In interviews with local seminarians and priests they identified that Dr. Brown made them feel very uncomfortable for supporting orthodox teachings. The homosexual culture in the seminaries was obvious with seminarians picking up men at bars. It made them very uncomfortable. They reported that Dr. Brown considered them "rigid" for supporting the male priesthood. Some seminarians were sent to psychiatric counseling. One seminarian remarked that they would not trust the Bishop or Fr. Becker, the vocations director as far as they could throw them. Some good men decided this was not the priesthood for them.
