Number of Priests

The Luddy trial revealed that there were over a dozen priests involved in child molestation and homosexual activities. In order to keep down the number of priests exposed the diocese was able to restrict the evidence to the period between July 1967 and December of 1984. One person who came forward said he had brought the problem to Bishop Hogan at the time. This person recalls the Bishop said that there were as many as fifty homosexual priests in the diocese. This number does not seem out of proportion considering the number of cases that have been made public. Current evidence and testimonies lead us to believe that we have over 20 active priests who have been practicing homosexuals.
